Update! Update!

Hey there!  We just wanted to give you an update on what's going on in the Pendleton Home Store in the near future.  We've been keeping busy and meeting all sorts of new friends traveling to Portland for the summer.  We definitely enjoy meeting our out of towners so if you plan on coming to Portland, be sure to stop in and say hello.

We have a lot of great events planned in the next few months so here's your official save the dates.

Sept. 5th 6-8pm
First Thursday with Northwest Documentary
River Rendez-Vous Revisited

Last summer Northwest Documentary joined us for an evening of fund-raising to help with their film project Les Voyageurs Sans Trace.  This is a film about a trio of French outdoor enthusiasts who kayaked the Green and Colorado Rivers in 1938.  It's one year later and so much has happened since then.  The filmakers recreated the trip through the southwest and then made their way to France to meet with the descendants of this pioneering trio.  So join us for an update on the progress of the film and a sneak peek at the documentary slated to be released after the first of the year.

Oct. 3rd 5-8pm
First Thursday with the U of O Interior Architecture Dept.

This is an installation of projects by students of the dept. who were given a project of designing a piece of furniture using Pendleton's Eco-Wise flannel fabric.  There will be a reception held for First Thursday but the installation will be on view through Saturday the 5th.

Nov. 7th 6-8pm
First Thursday with the Oregon Caves Chateau

Pendleton Home and The Oregon Caves Chateau have become great friends and we always enjoy our pre-holiday events with them.  The Chateau is going through a huge renovation of the rooms and Pendleton is very excited to be a part of their project.  Join us to help raise funds for this renovation and hear about their plans.

We do have some other very exciting events in the works that I'm trying to get the dates nailed down and let me tell you, they are going to be great.  Imagine celebrities and high-fashion...

So plan on joining us for these exciting events, Lucie the dog says so!

When Personal and Professional Collide

As many of you know, I grew up in the Southwest and thus my love for all things Pendleton--it probably started with that Pendleton baby blanket from my grand mother who worked in the gift shop of the Bright Angel Lodge.  Pendleton has always been a part of my life.

I also happen to be an avid Francophile.  I love anything French.  And when these two worlds collide, even better!  I usually refer to my decorating style at home "Southwestern Frenchie."

Part of my French obsession is with Serge Gainsbourg, Jane Birkin and their collective children.
This is Lou Doillon.  She is Jane Birkin's daughter and Charlotte Gainsbourg's half-sister.  Lou has acted in various films and now she is pursuing a music career as well.  Her musical style reminds me a bit of her mother's and Patti Smith's.  She's really great.

Here is her instagram photo she posted on Friday after wrapping up a small tour with her band.

And how about that!  She's sitting on Pendleton's Chief Joseph blanket in antique rose (a retired color).

Merci beaucoup Lou for sharing with your followers what's in your suitcase and for taking your very own Pendleton out on the road.  E venez a Portland s'il vous plait!
