For the past several years in magazines such as Vogue and Elle, you may have noticed beautiful cloaks made from Pendleton fabrics. We would like to introduce you to, Lindsey Thornburg, the maker of these truly one of a kind creations. Lindsey is shown above in one of her earlier designs made from fabric from our Shumacher collection (photo courtesy of Elle). Lindsey grew up in Aspen, Colorado and from an early age was aware of Pendleton, which is popular in the southwest. It's when she was traveling in Peru and saw the native Peruvians dressed in colorful capes and cloaks that she made the connection of creating her own cloaks using Pendleton blankets and fabrics. She has been a regular stalker at our incredible fabric store, The Woolen Mill Store for many years now.
Lindsey has made a namesake for herself in New York and Hollywood where she has quite an eclectic following of collectors. Here, eternal gypsetter and musician Davendra Banhart wears his Lindsey Thornburg cloak on the beach (photo courtesy of smoke & mirrors).
And now, thanks to a collaboration between Lindsey Thornburg and Pendleton, you can have your own Lindsey Thornburg cloak. This is a special collaboration that took a few years of hard work and dedication to see come to life and we couldn't be happier. What's even better, is the Pendleton Home Store has four of these cloaks in stock right now. You better hurry, though, I have a feeling they won't be around much longer with the chill that is already in our autumn air.
The cloaks sell for $1400.00
This is the Raven Cloak
The Los Ojos Cloak (we have two of these)
And the Buell Cloak
